Alaska Trip (Pic Heavy)

The wife and I took a trip to SE Alaska late last month with one side of our family. All I can say is wow! What an amazing place that is. The wildlife and scenery are like nothing I have ever seen before.
The salmon were just starting to run up the streams and each day, with each new stream we found more and more. Bears were present each day but kept a reasonable distance for the most part. Day 2 we had one come right into the stream 15 yards away and claimed that stretch of river for himself for a while. Much closer than I was comfortable with to say the least.
In addition to the salmon every drainage we hit Dolly Varden and Cutthroat Trout were also present. Never did land a Cutthroat.

Wow..great pictures. Looks like a great trip.
I'm a bit sad that I didn't get the chance to fish while I was in Alaska but the wife had many more plans that didn't include that. Maybe one day.

Here is one of the bears we saw walking back to the river mouth one afternoon. Pretty common to see bear tracks over ours on the trail as well.
