I don't see one posted yet. Who all is participating? Let's see some guns. I'll take my 1974 30/30 Winchester 94 out at least a couple times this season, possibly even tomorrow.

That's why I tote the 30/30 single shot. Not sure how to scope a 94...
The one I have now is angle eject. It is in the last post I made with the other picture of the bear and buck. Before that I use to mount them forward and had brass fly up between my eye and scope. I think you can see that set up in the first post.

At this point it has become a challenge to kill a deer period...lol
I will take my 35remington out a few times this year, and hope I can kill one without it. So far I haven't had much luck when I take it.

No pictures but I plan on hunting with me Marlin (pre safety) 336 Octagon 30/30 regular open sights. Also hope to hunt with the newly aquired Henry 357 Big Boy Steel with a Skinner peep. Also looking for any suggestions on good hunting bullets for the 357 as this is a new hunting caliber for me.

Any of the 158 gr jacketed soft flat points should serve you well. I have no experience with hollow points but I would think the 158 gr Hornady XTP would work well. I'd be afraid of a soft nose hollow point up close but at say 75 yards it would likely hold together.

I can only speak for the 30/30 but my favorite is the Winchester 150 grain hollow point for deer.

Hunt withine 95%of the season.it short and accurate. Hundreds of deer have died with it, it's like an extension of me .comes naturally when aim and shooting it fires on instinct, never had to think about pulling the trigger it shoots when the cross hairs are in the right spot. Best weapon I have used.

I will likely take a levergun hunting, the hard part is deciding which one. LOL. I think the 38-55 needs to take a walk this year. It has been a while since I used it to kill a deer. I'm sure the .338 Marlin Express will be used.
