I made it up to the Virginia Trappers' Association (VTA) Convention in Bland, VA this morning. Left my house at 6:15 AM and took the very scenic route most of the way, which added an hour to the drive, but it was worth it. The fall colors on the way up were gorgeous and the scenery was absolutely beautiful!
Finally got to the VTA Convention at about 10:30 am. Got to say hello to @QuietButDeadly and I learned a lot from @41magnum about beaver trapping while I picked up my trapping supplies. Bought some lure from Mr. Paul Dobbins as well and a couple wire coon stretchers for opossum (per your recommendation, @Tom cat!) from Mr. Newt Sterling. And some J-hooks with swivels from another gentleman. The VTA Convention is smaller than the NCTA one, but I had a good time! Stayed for most of the auction and then headed to the hotel.
Having a takeout supper now and listening to a trapping podcast. Might do a little hiking in the nearby national forest tomorrow before I head back home to NC. It's been an awesome day! Big thank you to @QuietButDeadly and @41magnum for what y'all do!
