I haven't yet but I plan to feed some in Bladen and seeAre y'all having trouble with bear eating the soy beans
That's where we get ours. Over two hours away. I wish others downeast used them so we could get closer delivery.
Are they in 50lb bags at Barrier Farms? Cost?
We are paying $12.00 a bag up to 25 bags, then it's $11.00 for 25+ and $10.00 a bag for 50+ bagsYes. I think it was around $11 for 50/50 corn/beans, but haven't asked lately. Seems like it was $15 for 100% beans. One of our members mixes it up himself.

We just checked our tract deer have eaten 24 bags from 4 gravity feeders in two weeks. At this pace minus the month of April we are looking @ a yearly cost of $5500.00 on a 210 acre tract. Bucks are killing it day and night but that's steep.this is my first year trying to feed year round and i started using the corn/soybean mix also. the bucks are hitting it hard right now. cleaning up 4-5 bags a week at my spots, not a speck left... That's about the most I will put out considering the cost of the feed but I'm going to give it a try this year to see if it makes any difference.

Wow that is insane. Guess there’s just not much around to eat so they hit the feed hard. Definitely gets costly keeping it out there.
Yea I haven't broken the news to the other guys yet but without winter wheat and corn in the spring I don't see a better choice. Sad thing is our best bucks normally die on tracts of 20 acres or less.
Has anyone thought about cotton seed? High protein but don't know the cost. I saw where there some ranches feeding it as a supplement in Texas.
Last year a business affiliate and farmer gave me 1200# soybeans for free... guess I need to get some from him again this yearWe are going up to VA lease to start feeding tomorrow and put our minerals ... 2 months late honestly
we usually start 2nd week of January.
We have also used (plan again tomorrow) to mix 16% protein cattle starter pellets with corn and havehad no problem deer eating them.
honestly the pellets (local made) are cheaper than shelled corn
We are getting some pics now after 5 months of soybean/ corn mix and local minerals definitely seeing so mass and deer look healthythis is my first year trying to feed year round and i started using the corn/soybean mix also. the bucks are hitting it hard right now. cleaning up 4-5 bags a week at my spots, not a speck left... Deer are killing it worth every dime
Could go to Kansas for 3 days or pay to hunt every dayNice..it pays to feed them quality
Genetics and nutrition are key to whitetail growth, those who disagree have neither. ImhoBoy they are nice!

Didn't have shooter till Dec. 25 now we have 5 good deer. We are blessed with genetics but it takes $$ to build a deer. Feed em they will come. You've got us beat this year. I believe it's genetics, nutrition, age...and location too. We've got some good bucks, but with what we've fed them, we should have at least a couple of 130's this year. From what I've seen we don't.
