All are from a 26inch 870 express 20 guage with a .575 carlsons choke wearing a venom red dot.

My 21" barreled 870 in 20 ga. doesn't shoot the Fed. 9's near as good as yours does at 40
Same Carlsons .575 and a polished bore....

Really sweet top patterns hard ask much more. On the federal did you shoot multiple shots my issue with em was I'd get 2 that looked like your 40 then the next would be terrible just no consistency at distance. Figure that choke to open for the lead? They usually do better at 40.

I’m sure the .575 is too open for the longbeards. I think the carlsons choke made for them is .555 or close to it.

Those are a little tighter, I’m sure mine would snug up if I choked it down.

Everybody is “counting”
90 is the new 50 in distance. Just ask or look.
Usually a five year old with a .410.
It was a joke…he had the yardage off by one. I actually thought the one I killed was at 60 and was surprised when I ranged it.

Which pattern would you hunt with? Its a Stevens 301 20 gauge using Apex 1 5/8 oz of #9 shot.

I have a red dot. I haven't decided wich one im going to stick with. I can see the bead under the reddpt sight for up close. Im thinking of choosing the .570

I’d shoot them at 20 and 60 and I imagine they’ll be a clear winner. If I had to pick one just off the 42 yard targets, I’d roll with the .570. It’s the most even edge to edge.

I've had great success with a Sumtoy choke. That one makes a seriously dense pattern for 42 yards. Get your sight zeroed & go kill some turkeys. Good Hunting this Spring!
