I don’t get to hunt with my super Blackhawk as much now that I live in the western gun season.

I enjoy carrying it

I hunt with 30-30 TC Contender with a 16" barrel, Harris bipod, Pachmeyr grips, Simmons 1x-4x scope and sling occasionally. I suppose this qualifies as a handgun still LOL

Come to think of it I have a new to me .300 blackout upper I might try out later this season. I got a set of sights on it but haven't shot it to confirm/adjust zero yet.

Go for it and let us know what you end up using in it. If my wife ever gets back out in the woods, she might be using a 7.5" .300.

In my old .300 blackout 16" AR I used the 120 grain barnes hollowpoints. I don't have anymore of those, and they are hard to find and expensive now.

For this one I have some underwood 110 grain Varmageddon loads and some underwood 194 grain max-expansion loads. If I use it i'll likely keep it to less than 75 yards and use the varmageddon for neck shots.

Is there a reason you are going with the 110's over the 194's? She likes running subs more than supers out of the short barrel.

I have more of the supers at this point, and the 110s should be going fast enough to do a lot of damage in a neck shot. I bought the subs to test it out and make sure it functions fine, with the intention of doing a form 1 .30 cal suppressor for it. I'll want to do some expantion/penetration testing with the subs before i want to send them at a deer....Give me something to tinker with in the off season. I like quick and clean kills and feel better about the supers with the limited time for testing this season. Don't like to shoot alot this time of year unless it's at a deer.

I've had this Super Redhawk in 44 Mag for years and years. Had to get it rebarreled last year so it's shooting really well now. Never killed a deer bc everytime I've had the chance they were young deer I didn't want to shoot. Hoping to change that this year.

Another 6” GP100 shooter. Thing is tuned just right! More accurate than I am. I’ll carry it a couple times but not really enamored any more. My open sight gun is now a small carbine mostly.

Dang how many rounds you shot through that gun to have to rebarrel it?

I've had it for nearly 20 years and honestly don't know how many rounds I've fired. The gun got to where I couldn't hit anything with it, even with a scope it was very erratic. I called Ruger and they had me send it in for inspection. Got it back with a target showing a ragged hole at 15 yards where their tech had fired it after repairs. The paper just said barrel repair but nothing more. I called them and was told their tech couldn't hit paper at 15 yards from a rest so he rebarreled the gun. 20 year old gun and they did it free of charge. All it cost me was 30 bucks to ship it to them. Shoots great again now.

I have the same gun and want to try to get one this year if I can fill some more tags first. What are you shooting out of yours?

I'll be shooting both a 357 GP100 toting a 6" barrel and a 44mag blackhawk with a 7.5" barrel for longer shots. Cast and load all my boolits.

I do but not this year until I kill one with my Marlin 35 Remington. I use a TC Contender in 10'' 30-30, 14'' 30-30, 10 '' 45 Colt, 10'' 357 mag and just ordered a 10 '' 44 Mag barrel....
I also have a S&W mod 27-2 in 357 mag with 6 inch barrel that has put down a few
My favorite to Carry is probably the 10'' 30-30 with fiber optic sights.

Got my first this morning. Shot her at 50 yards with one of my Keith style lead reloads. She only went about 50 yards spraying blood the whole time.

Got my first with my SR1911 10mm. 25 yard center punch. She jumped straight up and came straight down, looked around and fell over. Underwood 220 gr hard cast.
