‘‘Twas a big day. Didn’t blow nothing up, got ‘er opened and upright again.

Stack hole was the virgin cut. Easy peasy.

Doors layed out and cut cut, the corners remain though. I’ll cut those tomorrow mebbe and finish the straps. Didn’t wanna warp em being in a hurry, I put quite a bit of heat and stress on that tank today.

Cleaned a bunch of unsightly tabs and brackets off.

Hinges made and on. Getting somewhere👍E01382A0-B860-40F8-A0CA-CCCC07F33B16.jpegACD45B79-33D9-4246-87A4-5A9295123B92.jpeg6095D67D-E7AE-4FB6-B064-A0AD03E7CD2C.jpeg

Aight that’s about enough for the weekend. Doors cut loose…no warps:greenjump::greenjump::greenjump:That boy thickerish…

Straps done, handle brackets made. View attachment 71692View attachment 71693View attachment 71694And yes I cut that^ weld out and re did it. It was storming and I didn’t wanna close the doors but I did after that lol

That is some purty work right there...seriously!! A work of art...I can't wait to see how it turns out.

HUGE too...looks like it oughta hold about 17-18 butts...and 4-5 briskets! 😋

Thanks! Oh it’s gonna hold that and then some, but it won’t even be close to ready by Saturday. I’ll cook those on the ‘little’ smoker;)

Also cut some discs out of 1/4 plate to fill the valve/gauge holes. Easier than cutting them out!

Next up is building the skid and getting it up to working height. I got all the steel today for the skid and the grate frames…and that hurt my feelings😳

Chop another tank day…no kersploded😂A90CA129-96F4-4BF3-9033-E7FD2EA81058.jpegC4AA55F5-D335-40CC-AB15-69A2FBC8D181.jpegGetting there. First cut fit like a champ, reckon my measurements were right but it just didn’t suit me. Dropped the bottom of the hole 3”, more betterer👍 Some minor fitment adjustments tomorrow, then I’ll order the last of the steel. Good news…steel has stopped going up. Bad news…it ain’t coming down yet😔

Not the easiest way to roll pipe, but dang sure the cheapest. Honestly, it was pretty easy🤷‍♂️ Just another section of the 30” tank, cut a touch over a foot out of it for a 26” pipe for the inner. Wasn’t quite round but a few well places whacks with a BFH got it plenty close enough!

Ceramic insulation.

Also have the firebox face plate and door cut out of plate.22C0866C-8889-45EB-A898-005F1472C967.jpeg23980523-C112-455B-8693-AC225E543BFA.jpegD7068B39-52EE-412D-88CC-03E8AAF03A81.jpegBF9DE51D-4F91-4D93-AA80-855C9923F75B.jpeg

Crap, I see it in one of the pics. now. They will ruin you, love them.
I’m starting to get it figured out, bought it just for this and it’s the first one I’ve messed with. I try to use a guide for the most part, it’s prettier that way😂

As much (sheet)metal as I cut on the job, I really don’t have a use for a plasma or a torch, but I knew my air tools weren’t gonna git er done.
