Took my Mossberg 500 (18" smoothbore) with me while setting up a deer feeder. After the feeder was up, decided to run a few shells through it (co-worker gave me a box of #6). I shot 5x #6, 2x #4buckshot, 5x #6, and backed up a bit with a couple Rem. Sluggers.

Fired the first slug, the bolt opened and the shell ejected!

Hmm, must have been a fluke? Checked the bolt latch, cycle it a few times, & the bolt latched each time (had to press the release to open it). Nope, 2nd slug caused the same thing! :(

Not sure if this is common thing, a worn part, or a sign to stay away from the slugs? Any thoughts?

What is your favotite movie or movies?

I am a big fan of Open Range with Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner and I also like American Outlaws with Colin Farrell. Outlaw Josey Wales is one of my favorite Eastwood movies and I can never turn the channel when Tom Selleck and Quickly Down Under comes on.

Since I will be layed up at the house for a few days, I borrowed Lonesome Dove. Never seen the movie before and have just watched the first part. Starts off a little slow, but it's getting pretty good now. That Diane Lane is one good looking women in this movie.:greenjump:

Went to check my cameras today and I go to one and boom, no memory card in the camera. I think to myself, man I am pretty sure I put a card in there. I checked my pants I wore yesterday and no card there. I go get the camera and plugged it to the laptop because I see that there were 26 pictures saved internally. Well picture number one is the arm of the guy that stole my card. Left my camera but stole my card. What an idiot.

Heard a bunch of gunshots the last few days in the general area of this field so I'm assuming he decided to dove hunt my field yesterday and his picture got taken so he took the card not knowing it saved pictures to the camera afterwards. That's my theory anyway. Anyone ever had a card stolen but not the whole camera. Just odd to me.

If I find the guy my first question is going to be, "Were there any good pictures on the card you took from me?"

I'm offering a 5 dollar reward if anyone recognizes the arm of the suspect.

I'm not the die-hard, chest thumpin' trophy monger some of you fellas are, but I have a few picked out for the season.

I think we'll start with a little tender breast-fed free-ranging fawn fajitas:

Followed up with a little bit of young 7 point fillet, full of potential that won't ever be realized if he comes by my ladder:

Then, we'll probably be ready for a little bit of 'ol Loud Mouth Snorticia, slow roasted in a crock pot with onions and potatoes:

Then, for the main course, a velvety rack of tri-tips!

And, if there's any room left on my tags, a shot at my "character" deer for the year, the one I've nicknamed "The Rock", ....for his raised eyebrows....
